Episode Summaries

Part One: The Saiyan Saga

In this episode, Raditz, Goku's evil brother, arrives on Earth. Goku brings Gohan to a reunion on Roshi's (Kamesennin in the Japanese version) island. After a brush with Piccolo, Raditz finds Goku on the island and offers Goku a place with the Saiyans. When Goku refuses, Raditz hits him and takes Gohan in retaliation.

After Goku was struck down in the last episode, Piccolo arrives on Kamesennin's island as well, and tells Goku that it will take them both to defeat Raditz. Goku agrees, and they use the Dragon Radar to home in on the dragonball on Gohan's hat. The fight began, and Raditz shot two beams at the two, missing Goku, and blowing off Piccolo's left arm. Goku was then beaten to a pulp and the episode ends.

In the beginning of this episode, Goku and Piccolo regrouped from being thrashed by Raditz, and discussed their strategy. Piccolo unveils his "Special Beam Cannon" technique (makankosappo in the Japanese version) on Raditz, but misses, and only grazes his shoulder with it. Goku grabs Raditz's tail while he's distracted, an Piccolo prepares his attack once again. However, Raditz talks Goku into letting him go and Raditz turns on him the moment he does. Raditz steps on Goku a few times, and Gohan, hearing his father's screams, busts out of Raditz's space pod, where he was imprisoned. Gohan preforms an all-out head butt on Raditz, and Goku gets up and grabs Raditz in an arm lock. Piccolo prepeares his Beam Cannon again, and the episode ends.

This episode starts up with Piccolo shooting through Raditz and Goku with his Beam Cannon, and both of them collapse. Raditz tells Piccolo before he dies that his scouter (the thing over his eye) also acts as a transmitter to the other Saiyans, and that they overheard Piccolo's talking about the dragonballs. Sure enough, Nappa and Vegeta, the other two remaining Saiyans, overhear this and decide to head for Earth. Meanwhile, Goku dies and is led to Earth's "Check-in" station by Kami and is told to go across Snake Way where he will train with the great King Kai. Back on Earth, Piccolo regenerates his arm, and takes Gohan with him when he leaves, so he can train Gohan for the fight with Nappa and Vegeta.

Piccolo has taken Gohan to an isolated area to train. Piccolo leaves Gohan there for survial training, but he stays close by to watch over him. Krillin is unable to tell Chichi or the Ox-King where Gohan and Goku are, and sneaks away to Kamesennin's island again. Bulma gets Raditz's scouter to display numbers in our language, and finds out that Master Roshi is weaker than Krillin. Yajirobe knocks on the door, and asks them to come train, and tells them not to revive Goku until the year is up, so he can train with King Kai. Back with Gohan, he's stuck on the top of a mountain. He sees the full moon and turns into the were-monkey, like all Saiyans with a tail do. He starts to shoot everything around him, until Piccolo destroys the moon. When this happens, Gohan changes back, and Piccolo yanks off his tail so that this wouldn't happen any more. He gives Gohan a fighting suit and a sword, and flies off to train on his own.

Gohan wakes up to find that he has new clothes given to him by Piccolo, and no tail. Animals constantly try to eat him, and Gohan seeks refuge in a cave. When he wakes up the next morning, Gohan discovers that the cave was home to a wounded dinosaur. Gohan tends to it, but just before it was totally healthy, the same Tyrannosaurus Rex attacks Gohan again, and the friendly dino is killed by it. Goku, up on Snake Way, is still running, and finds a street sweeper man. He hops aboard, allowing him time to sleep on the back so he can regain lost energy on the journey.

Vegeta and Nappa are travelling through space when Vegeta decides to stop and "strecth his legs" on the planet Arlia. When the two evil Saiyans land, they "captured" so to speak, and put into a prison cell which they escaped from easily. Afterward they came to a feild of some sort and "forced" to fight the Arlian warriors. When Nappa blows up all the members of the warriors, a large monster is released for them to fight. Nappa destroys this monster easily. There is some cheesy story about an Alian prisoner reuniting with his wife then he says that Vegeta and Nappa will be remembered on their planet forever. Just when all the prisoners thought they were finally free, Vegeta and Nappa depart. Vegeta takes a shot at the planet from space, utterly destroying it.

Goku, still riding on the back of the street washer, is asleep, and rolls off of the vehicle, and off of Snake Way altogether. He lands in the "Home For Infinite Losers", spelled "HFIL" on the shirts of the ogres who live there. (It was a pretty good cover-up to turn HELL into HFIL) To get out, Goku had to defeat the two ogres that ran the place; one with super strength, and one with super speed. When he had done this, he ate some of King Yemma's special fruit that depletes hunger for a month, and left by way of a secret exit. However, it was the ogres who had the last laugh, because thesecret exit led Goku back into King Yemma's Palace; in his desk drawer. Goku, with raised and renewed health from the fruit, set out again on Snake way.

Goku catches up to where he was when he originally fell off of Snake Way, and comes across a house, thinking it to be King Kai's place. He is literally sucked inside, and finds a beautiful princess there. The princess makes every effort to get Goku to stay there with her, but Goku insists on leaving. Enraged, the princess reveals her true form, a giant snake that Goku is trapped inside of. Goku flies out, and manages to tie up the giant snake. After this brief interlude, he flies back to Snake Way to continue his journey.

Gohan escapes the wilderness only to willingly return to training as Piccolo reminds him of his mission, to save earth.

The warriors experience the awesome reality of the overwhelming power of the Saiyans in the virtual reality of the Pendulum Room and renew their vow to train and fight for the future of the earth while Gohan begins his intensive fighting training under Piccolo.

Goku finally reaches King Kai and begins a rather unorthodox form of training in the 158 days that are left before the Saiyans arrive while Gohan is continuing his fighting training under Piccolo despite the fact that Gohan almost killed Piccolo during another metamorphosis as a giant ape.

Goku conquers gravity and displays amazing speed and thus is about to be trained by King Kai himself in the KAIOKEN technique while the rest of the good guys polish up their skills for the showdown against the Saiyans.

Goku continues his training under King Kai, as King Kai reveals to Goku his unknown Saiyan heritage.

Goku finishes his training with King Kai. King Kai helps Goku contact Master Roshi through his psychic powers, and Roshi wishes Goku back to our dimension with the dragonballs. However, even at the rapid pace Goku travels through Snake Way, he won't make back until the day after the Saiyans reach Earth. The Saiyan ships crash onto Earth in the middle of a huge city, and 2 Saiyans, Nappa and Vegeta, come out of the ships. Nappa easily destroys a large portion of the city, and explains that the Saiyans have come to Earth to use the dragonballs to wish for immortality. Its up to Goku's friends, and Gohan, to defend the Earth until Goku arrives.

Nappa and Vegeta fly straight to the two strongest people on Earth: Gohan & Piccolo. Krillin, Tenshinhan (Tien), and Yamcha all come to help defend the Earth. Nappa asks for the dragonballs and tells Piccolo he's from a different planet called Namek. Nappa also plants six seeds that grow into green Saibamen, and the fighters agree to a tournament, in order to stall until Goku arrives.

The tournament between Earth's defenders and the Saibamen began with Tien defeating one of the Saibamen. Yamcha was next, and defeated another Saibaman. However, a Saibaman cluched on to Yamcha and blew both of them up; a kamikaze attack. Bulma, at Master Roshi's house, cried, but Master Roshi said they could wish Yamcha back with the dragonballs. Krillin, out of anger, destroyed three more of the Saibamen with an emense fireball that shot out five different ways, hitting and killing three remaining Saibamen. His blast also shot the Saiyans. Nappa and Vegeta were unharmed, however, and Piccolo killed the last Saibaman that tried to take Gohan by surprise. Nappa decided it was time to finish off the Earthlings and started to charge up his attack. Will Goku make it in time?

Nappa starts off by fighting with Tien. Tien trys his best, but Nappa is too strong for him. Nappa chops off one of Tien's hands, and Tien goes down. Tien's companion, Chaozu, grabs onto Nappa's back in an attempt to kill Nappa. Chaozu explodes himself, but doesn't even scratch Nappa. And, Chaozu's already been wished back to life with the dragonballs, so it is seemingly impossible to bring him back with Earth's dragonballs. Tien fills with rage, and fiercely attacks Nappa, but to no avail. Nappa easily knocks Tien aside, but Piccolo and Krillin attempt a sneak attack. They stun Nappa, but Gohan is too scared to fight, and Nappa regains his defense. Goku is almost there, but will he make it in time to save his friends?

Piccolo and Krillin make multiple copies of themselves with the Tri-form technique and, without the aid of Gohan, fight with Nappa to no avail. Tien sees Chaozu's some what ghost, and gets back up for one last fireball. Nappa barely notices the fireball, but blocks it just in time. Tien falls back down, too tired to fight anymore. Vegeta then orders Nappa to stop fighting for three hours, so they can wait for Goku. During the break Piccolo tells Gohan he's very disappointed in him, and if he isn't going to help he should go home. Krillin convinces Gohan to stay. Nappa sees a camera man and chases the press away. He sees a huge fleet out in the sea, and decides to destroy it, for fun. Goku finally reaches the end of Snake Way, but is he too late?

Nappa destroys a building before returning to the fight. Break time runs out, and Goku hasn't shown up, so Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan plan their attack. Krillin distracts Nappa while Piccolo sneaks up and grabs Nappa's tail, the Saiyan's only weak spot. Gohan prepares to attack, but Nappa is uneffected by Piccolo and gives Piccolo a strong hit on the head. Vegeta says Nappa and he have evolved some, and their tail is no longer a weak spot. Krillin shoots a dicing fireball at Nappa, and Nappa is ready to catch it. Vegeta tells Nappa not to, and the fireball just barely misses him. Out of anger at nearly being defeated, Nappa shoots a fireball at Krillin, seriously hurting him. Piccolo staggers up and shoots a fireball at Nappa's back. Nappa thinks it was Gohan who shot the ball and goes after him, but Piccolo intervenes. Meanwhile, Goku makes it to the end of Snake Way, and transports to Kami's floating island, where he calls for Nimbus, his flying cloud. He gets two Senzu Beans, and is off to help his friends. Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin sense Goku coming, and Vegeta uses his scanner to measure Goku's power level. Its over 5000! Goku and Nappa will duke it out next time on DBZ!

The fighting continues between the warriors and Nappa. Gohan sneaks in a strong kick and hits Nappa. Nappa fills with rage, and charges a fireball to kill Gohan with. Piccolo shields Gohan by sacrificing himself. Since Piccolo dies, Kami dies as well (long story), but before he does he tells Popo that the dragonballs on Earth are gone. There are, however, another set of dragonballs on Namek. Gohan gets very angry, and shoots a big fireball at Nappa, who blocks it. Nappa gets ready to step on the now trembling Gohan, when Nimbus swoops down and gets Gohan away from danger. Its Goku! Goku gives Krillin and Gohan a piece of his last Senzu bean, which regenerates their strength. Goku slowly and confidently walks over to Nappa, easily dodging Nappa's attacks, hitting Nappa every once and awhile. Its time for Nappa to get a taste of his own medicine on the next episode of DBZ!

Nappa and Goku fight on, Goku easily countering and attacking Nappa. Vegeta sees that Nappa can't win this battle, and orders him to come down. Nappa stops fighting Goku, and goes after Krillin and Gohan. Goku uses his Kaioken attacks, which increases all his senses and strength, to seriously hurt Nappa. Nappa asks for Vegeta to help him up, but Vegeta throws him in the air, and kills him with a huge fireball. Goku tells Gohan and Krillin to go Master Roshi's house, so Vegeta can't hurt them. Goku and Vegeta fly off to a remote location to fight. Vegeta asks Kakarot (Goku's Saiyan name) to join him in ruling the universe, and, of course, Goku refuses. Goku and Vegeta are almost equal in strength, and each is having a hard time hurting the other. Who will win?

Goku and Vegeta continue fighting and defending, each unable to break their opponents defence. Goku tries a Triple Kaioken attack, which could destroy his own body if he's not careful. He hits Vegeta, but doesn't seriously hurt him. Vegeta gets very angry, and decides to destroy the planet. Vegeta uses his Galick Gun attack, and shoots a huge beam at the Earth. Goku block it by using his Triple Kaioken attack, and a Kamehameha. Goku's and Vegeta's beams are equal in strength, so Goku performs a Kaioken attack -- times 4! Vegeta is sent flying up through the air, riding Goku's beam. Yajarobe, who had been watching the fight from behind a rock, comes out to congratulate Goku and claim victory with him. Goku, however, is very weak and tells Yajirobe that Vegeta will be back, and probably very angry. Yajirobe runs away, and Vegeta returns. Vegeta tells Goku he's going to kill him with a move he learned from Goku's father. Vegeta shoots a huge fireball that resembles the moon into the sky...

The glowing ball causes Vegeta to turn into a huge monkey. Goku doesn't transform into one because he doesn't have his tail; he cut it off a long time ago. Goku tries to out-manuver the beast, but he is no match for the huge ape. Vegeta easily hurts Goku. Vegeta is about to step on Goku, so Goku puts all his strength into one last fireball and shoots it into Vegeta's eye. Vegeta loses one eye, but becomes VERY angry, and crushes Goku's legs. Vegeta picks Goku up, and starts to squeeze the life out of him, when Krillin and Gohan come back to help Goku. They find Yajarobe hiding, who says they're crazy and leaves. Their plan was to have Gohan distract Vegeta, so Krillin can sneak up and cut of his tail. Will their plan work?

Gohan distracts were-monkey Vegeta so Krillin can cut off his tail. Krillin forms a big cutting fireball, and throws it at Vegeta's tail. Vegeta's sensitive ears hear the fireball coming, and he jumps over it just un the nick of time. Vegeta turns around and slams Krillin into the side of a cliff. Out of nowhere, Yajarobe jumps up and cuts off Vegeta's tail, and runs away! Vegeta reverts back to his Saiyan form. Gohan gets encouraged from his father, and begins fighting with Vegeta. Meanwhile, Goku gives Krillin whats left of his Spirit Bomb, saying its their last hope. Master Roshi telepathically contacts Krillin and tells him he will know when to throw the bomb. Gohan is losing the battle when Krillin decides to throw the Bomb. Vegeta jumps out of the way, and the bomb flys toward Gohan! Gohan is able to deflect the Bomb because he has a pure heart, and sends it right at Vegeta. Vegeta is blasted out into space, but did they REALLY defeat him?

Vegeta's body lands, and Krillin thinks it's just a corpse. But, Vegeta isn't killed so easily. Vegeta tries to hurry to finish everyone off, before the last of his strength fades. Vegeta notices Gohan's tail, and tries to kill the boy before he can see the artifical moon, which he had put there. Then, Vegeta senses someone behind him. Yajirobe sliced Vegeta's back with his sword, but but it didn't effect him much. Goku tells Gohan to look up at the moon. Yelling that he's blown it, Vegeta rushes in. Too late. Trying to kill the changing monster, Vegeta keeps pounding away. Then he decides to go for the tail to rip it off. However, neither Goku nor Gohan can control themselves in monkey form. Krillin and Goku tell Gohan to attack Vegeta, and he does. Vegeta is starting to hurt, and his artifical moon will last for a full hour. His only choice is to cut off the tail. He attacks and cuts Gohan's tail off. Gohan falls and Vegeta can't move out of the way in time. Gohan's partially changed body lands on him. Vegeta has enough energy to summon his space ship. Elsewhere, some men are excavating the alien craft, trying to analyze it, when it takes off. They are left sprawling, wondering what happened. Krillin picks up Yajirobe's sword and goes towards Vegeta to finish him. Goku tells him to let Vegeta go. Vegeta crawls into his ship, and blasts away. Then Master Roshi comes to get everyone.

Part Two: The Frieza Saga

This episode starts out when Goku, Gohan, Krillin, and Yajirobe get on Bulma's air-boat. (I think they cut out a part right there). Anyway, everybody starts to think of their friends in the next dimension, and thanks Gohan for saving their lives. Then they talk about how Vegeta and Nappa knew about the dragonballs and about Piccolo's origin. When Kami and Piccolo died, the dragonballs also disappeared. Goku talks to King Kai telepathically. And everybody hears King Kai as well. King Kai says that there are also dragonballs on Namek tells them where Namek is. Now the only problem is how to get there. Krillin gave Bulma the remote that controlled Nappa's Saiyan space pod. Everybody went to the hospital where Goku, Gohan, & Krillin were healing. Bulma took the remote and pressed a few buttons and accidentally blew up the space pod. All hope was lost when Mr. Popo came to their aid by brining Bulma to a space-ship that Kami was brought from when he was a child. They opened the space-ship by saying "Piccolo." And using some of the Namek language Mr. Popo learned from Kami they launched into outer space.

Launched into space, Bulma and Mr. Popo arrive at Jupiter. Back on earth, the special forces team talk about launching to Namek. Bulma asks Krillin to go with her to Namek. Everybody is surprised when Gohan says he wants to go to Namek as well. Mr. Popo teaches Bulma Namek language and Bulma and Krillin wait for Gohan. Gohan, who has been "prettied up" by his mother, gets to the launch area, and the trio launch into space. On the space-ship Bulma goes to sleep and Gohan changes into a new outfit. He looks like Piccolo except without the turban and the cape. Gohan and Krillin train telepathically and then the show cuts off to Vegeta, in his pod, saying "My wounds will soon be healed, with the blood of revenge." Meanwhile, the trio are about to crash into a mirror reflection of their ship! The reflection was an illusion, however, and the little ship with are three friends are pulled into a very large ship. The trio leave their tiny ship to explore, but are suckered into a trap! They are surrounded by a bunch of guys aiming guns at them.

Gohan and Krillin beg for mercy until the strange people begin to fire at them. Suddenly, meteors start to fly all around the huge ship. The ship suffers damages, and some of the strange people are about to get crushed by a big panel, but and Gohan and Krillin come to the rescue. Bulma goes to the control deck and steers the ship out of the meteor shower, and Gohan and Krillin help put out a fire. The strange people then figure out that Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma are friendly, and mean them no harm. The strangers talk of their old home planet and how it was destroyed by a new evil character in the DBZ world; Frieza. The the trio leave the huge ship happily. Meanwhile, the bruised Vegeta lands on a planet to get some treatment with some of his comrades. The trio finally land on Namek. After a freak fall they awake and meet two Namek's: Saskro and Grati. They go off to find the dragonballs. They find one in a river, and find one in an ancient temple.

The trio, with their new friend Saskro, go off to find more dragonballs. The next three dragonballs are not so easy to find. A dinosaur takes one of the dragonballs and walks off. The four friends follow the dino that had the dragon ball. The dino was nothing but bones; he was burned by an acid lake. Gohan volunteers to wear a special suit to retrieve the Dragonball. A safety rope was attached and Gohan dives in. The acid eats through the rope Gohan's suit begins to burn. Once Gohan gets the dragonball he fired a "Ka Me Ha Me Ha!" and is launched towards the surface . The next dragonball is found inside a TWISTER! Gohan jumps inside the tornado, retrieves the dragonball and fires a Ka Me Ha Me Ha toward the center which destroyed the tornado. Back on earth, Goku escapes from the hospital. Back on Namek, the next dragonball is part of an earring of a evil giant. The group gets the dragonball and escapes from the giant by flying away on a model plane. On the mysterious planet, Vegeta is rejuvenated, and on Earth Goku is training again.

The trio are in an ice cave retrieving one of the last two dragonballs. But where's Saskro? Once they get the dragonball there is an earthquake and a two shadows laugh. On the mysterious planet, Vegeta talks to his doctor, about how he was defeated on Earth. Back on Earth, Goku trains in an unknown area, gets hurt again, and lays on the ground smelling the flowers. On Namek, the trio try to get away from a spiked snow ball. They escape and walk toward the area that the dinosaur was killed. What happened to it? Gohan is grabbed by an invisible force. Saskro and Grati appear, show their real form, and tell the trio they weren't on Namek. Saskro and Grati, now in theri true form, tell the trio that they had been stranded on this strange planet long ago, and that all the adventures and dragonballs were illusions. Sasko and Grati are telepathic, and created the illusion so they could steal the trio's ship and fly away. On earth, Chichi and Master Roishi find Goku and bring him back to the hospital. On the unknown planet, Vegeta learns that Frieza is on Namek and he goes to get the dragon balls before Frieza does. What was supposedly planet Namek the trio learns of Saskro and Grati. If you remember two episodes back the land was all green when they landed, where is it.

Gohan and Krillin are grabbed by huge squids while Bulma learns how the strange creatures knew about their mission. Saskro and Grati try to open the Namek ship, but don't know the password. Gohan and Krillin get pulled down into the lake and launch fireballs to get rid of the squids. They go to help Bulma protect their ship from Saskro and Grati. The trio launch into the sky, leaving the evil Saskro and Grati behind. On Earth, when Chichi isn't looking, Goku tries to escape again, but the doctor and nurse catch him. The finally reach the real Namek, and land. When they do, Krillin and Bulma celebrate, but Gohan senses a strong force. Then, Vegeta's pod (with him in it) comes flying in, and another space pod comes. Bulma contacts Earth to get help from Goku. Freeza, on Namek as well, finds one of the dragon balls. The dragon ball was huge. The special forces team has their work cut out for them...

On the planet Namek, Krillin and Gohan must battle two of Frieza's henchmen while Vegeta must dispose of an old nemisis, Cui. But these skirmishes are not being overlooked! They're being witnessed by the watchful scouters of Frieza and his ferocious followers, who are already gathering a nice collection of dragonballs for themselves!

An ailing Goku is mended with the help of some magical Senzu beans. Being informed of the poor state of affairs on Namek, Goku takes off to find Bulma's dad, who is currently rebuilding Goku's old spaceship. Now Goku must try to rejoin with the gang before it's too late!

Goku begins training in the space pod designed by Bulma's dad, under increased gravity! While on the planet Namek, a group of Namekian warriors are under attack from Frieza's evil henchmen. But with the vicious Dodoria on Frieza's side, the Namekian forces are in for a tough time!

As the group of Namek warriors fall under Dodoria's assault, Krillin and Gohan must intervene to rescue a young Namek named Dende. But by entering into the fray have they sealed their own doom?

A returning Dodoria is interrupted by the arrival of an old acquaintance... Vegeta! As Vegeta demonstrates his newly acquired skills, a frightened Dodoria bargains for his freedom by telling Vegeta the truth about the destruction of his home planet. But bargaining with Vegeta can be a problem. Will Vegeta keep his word?

As Goku approaches planet Namek, problems ensue. It seems a tear in the space pod is causing him to plummet into a star! And as Goku attempts repair on the spacecraft, things only get worse. While on Namek, Vegeta encounters a small village and tries to force the Namekian villagers to give over their dragonballs, Will he succeed?

Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin are informed by Dende that they need to seek the help of the eldest Namek, Guru. Guru will be able to aid them in their quest for the dragonballs. While in space, Goku is inforned by King Kai that Yamcha, Chaozu, Tien, and Piccolo have arrived to King Kai's planet and are training under his tutelage. But will their combined skills be any match for Frieza? And will they get a chance to find out?

Training on King Kai's planet continues, as Yamcha, Chaozu, Tien, and Piccolo advance their fighting talents. While on Namek surprises are in store, as Frieza's sidekick Zarbon is surprised by Vegeta. Just as it appears Vegeta has bested the saucy warrior, Zarbon transforms into a hideous beast! Is this lights out for Vegeta, or will he win the diabolical duel?

Krillin and Dende reach Guru, the eldest Namek, and learn the mystery of how the Earth dragonballs were created, as well as Piccolo's strange origin. Realizing Krillin's good intention, Guru proceeds to reward him with a dragonball, as well as awaken sleeping powers lying dormant within Krillin. But will these new found powers be enough?

An injured Vegeta is located but since he alone knows the location of a hidden dragonball, he must be rejuvinated. And a frustrated Frieza summons forth an unparallelled elite fighting arsenal to find the dragonballs... the Ginyu Force! Elsewhere, Bulma's Dragon Radar locates Vegeta's hidden dragonball and Gohan takes off to recover it. And on King Kai's planet, Yamcha, Tien, and Chaozu complete training with Bubbles and Gregory, and join Piccolo for their next level of training... the art of grappling!

Gohan recovers Vegeta's hidden dragonball and begins his return. While chaos strikes Frieza's camp, as Vegeta breaks free and escapes with all of Frieza's dragonballs! An enraged Frieza sends Zarbon to recover them giving a one hour ultimatum! Having safely stashed the dragonballs, Vegeta sees Krillin returning with yet another dragonball, and follows in pursuit. What will happen as Krillin and Vegeta, being spotted and joined by Zarbon, speed toward the base camp? Will they run into Gohan? And will Krillin and Gohan keep their dragonball?

A magnetic space storm strikes Goku's space pod, causing the Gravitron to malfunction. Now Goku is trapped in a space pod of 100-times normal gravity! And on Namek, Krillin is met by Vegeta, who wants to force Krillin to give over his only dragonball. But wait... Zarbon also arrives, and also plans to regain the dragonballs for Frieza. As the battle between Zarbon and Vegeta rages, who will gain Krillin's dragonball?

A stronger Vegeta overpowers Zarbon, gaining Krillin's dragonball. Thinking he now has all seven of the dragonballs, an anxious Vegeta takes off to summon the Eternal Dragon. On his trip, however, he runs into Gohan returning with one of the dragonballs hidden by Vegeta. Will Vegeta detect his stolen dragonball?

Krillin and Gohan take off to see Guru, with hopes that the eldest Namek can awaken hidden powers within Gohan, while Bulma watches over the dragonball recovered by Gohan. But angry blasts from Frieza shake the planet, causing the dragonball to slip into a deep lake, sinking to the bottom! Now to recapture the dragonball, Bulma must face a sea monster as well as an angry giant crab in the treacherous, watery depths!

Bulma is captured by two of Frieza's henchmen, who plan to take her and her dragonball back to Frieza. But Bulma convinces them that they should collect the dragonballs for themselves! The henchmen force Bulma to lead them to the location of the remaining dragonballs. Now Bulma unaware of where the remaining dragonballs are located, must devise a plan to escape! Elsewhere, Gohan and Krillin are spotted by Vegeta on their journey to Guru. Will Vegeta prevent their arrival?

Goku completes training under 100-times normal gravity in preparation for his landing on the planet Namek. While on Namek, Krillin and Gohan detect Vegeta following them, so Krillin stays behind to delay Vegeta long enough for Guru to awaken Gohan's sleeping powers. But as the Ginyu Force arrives, the collective forces of Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan will not be enough to stop Frieza from gaining all of the dragonballs. That is, unless they team up to grant Vegeta immortal life! Will Krillin and Gohan go along with this incredible proposal?

As all seven of the dragonballs are collected, Krillin decides not to allow Vegeta to summon the Eternal Dragon. And almost immediately, the Ginyu Force has arrived! Using their unique skills the Ginyu capture all seven of the dragonballs before they can be discarded or destroyed. Now Captain Ginyu returns to Frieza with all of the dragonballs, leaving the remaining four Ginyu to finish off Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan!

Krillin and Gohan battle Guldo of the Ginyu Force, discovering he has the ability to freeze time for brief periods! Undaunted, the warriors from Earth fight on, eventually wearing down Guldo. But just as it appears Guldo is no match, he launches his mind freeze... a move which leaves Gohan and Krillin defenseless! As the Ginyu warrior is finishing off Krillin and Gohan, Vegeta intervenes to save them from disaster and put Guldo out of action! Now Vegeta must face an even stronger opponent... Recoome!!

Vegeta battles the relentless Recoome but finds the titanic tyrant to be too powerful. As Gohan and Krillin intervene to aid the Saiyan warrior, they also fall prey to the powerful Recoome. Can anything, or anyone, stop the mighty mercenary?

Having collected all seven dragonballs, Frieza is unable to summon the Eternal Dragon, and is off to find out why. Meanwhile fighting with Recoome continues, with Krillin down and Gohan shouldering the load. But a tough blow halts the young warrior. As it appears all hope is lost a strange space ship appears on the horizon... It's Goku! And he's got Senzu beans to heal the injured warriors!

With his sidekicks Krillin and Gohan healed, Goku patches up Vegeta, sharing Senzu beans with his old nemesis. But it's Goku alone that stands against the awesome Recoome, sending the giant Ginyu crashing in a single blow! Now Goku takes on the forces of Jeice and Burter with apparent ease. Is Vegeta's revelation true? Has Goku become a legendary Super Saiyan?
