Frieza Saga Continued

53: Goku... Super Saiyan?

Recoome is ready to finish off Vegeta, and Krillin tells Gohan to help save the Saiyan now. The "Recoome Flames of Fury" almost kills Vegeta before it blows out Recoome's nose. Vegeta is mad at the interference. Krillin is impressed, and Recoome is just starting to have fun. He asks his friends if it's ok to take out the runts. They shrug, and demand chocolate parfaits in return. Krillin is taken out fast, which annoys the Team fighter. Guru can see a ways into the future, so he has sent Nail on an errand that he's not happy with. Gohan takes a beating. Frieza congratulates Ginyu on supplying the Balls, and he's about to fulfill his dream by activating them. Gohan calls for his father.

Ginyu asks Frieza whether the alien is an immoratal, but it doesn't seem to have happened. Then Frieza remembers what one elder told him about not being able to use the Balls to make the wish. He tries to figure out if there's a special place, or summoning word that he needs to use, then realizes that there's one Namek elder that hasn't been killed yet. Telling Ginyu to stay and watch the Balls, Frieza rushes off to find Guru. Recoome and Gohan keep fighting, while the boy reminds himself of whose child he is. Recoome asks what planet the boy is from, then Gohan says he isn't going to lose. But, he's dropped and his power is zeroed. Krillin curses his friend's defeat, Vegeta derides the boy, Recoome gloats, and Goku finally makes planet-fall.

The fighter wonders where this ship came from, Krillin is happy, the ship announces the arrival on Namek, and Goku steps out. Our hero quickly senses the locations of his friends and several really strong people -- but, the two Earthlings are nearly dead. Time to use his 100 g techniques. He arrives, people greet him, and he states that he has some senzu seeds. Gohan gets one, then Krillin. Recoome wants to know who's interferring with his game, Jeice and Burter wonder about the fast guy with the garbage-level power rating that's reanimating the corpses. Gohan briefs Goku on why Vegeta is so damaged. The hero tells them that he's gotten stronger on the trip over, then gives the last seed to Vegeta (which surprises Krillin who wants to know how they're going to heal themselves after fighting the Ginyu team.) But, Goku announces that he's going to handle this fight by himself.

Recoome's not impressed. The Earthling measures in at only 5000. Vegeta's trying to figure out what Goku is up to, then has a bad feeling about this. Recoome thinks that he's going to win, Goku says that he himself will (Recoome can't handle this.) Vegeta realizes that Kakarot has become a super Saiyan (last one was 1000 years ago.) The Ginyu man yells out "Recoome Mahho Attack" -- and misses. The ones with the scouters can't find Goku right away. Goku gives them a choice -- the Ginyu team can leave the planet, or they can get lots of pain. But they think he only has speed and no power. Recoome is about to destroy them all, with the "Recoome Ultra Fighting..."

The attack takes to long to announce, and Goku wins with one blow. No one can believe that this has happened, and Vegeta chokes the most on the idea that he's looking at a Super Saiyan. Goku gives the other team members another chance to leave the planet. Jeice and Burter are amused, but Krillin wonders why Goku doesn't want to fight them. The fighters have to protect their rep, so they go into their attack pose, and move out. Vegeta knows that Kakarot is going to win.

54: Ginyu Assualt

The combatants banter and fight a bit. Goku's powerful ki blows the team members backwards, putting Gohan and Krillin in awe of him. Everyone considers a situation in which Goku can beat up people that could trash Vegeta. Burter tells Jeice to use his Crusher Ball to distract the human, giving Burter an opening against him. But, Goku doesn't move. He deflects the Ball, and the enemies curse.

[The one-page cover has Bulma complaining about having been forgotten, while the others have all the fun.]

Jeice warns Burter to look backwards. But, they still think Goku is simply fast. Jeice says that this is a bad dream. Goku is asked who he is, ("I'm an Earth-bred Saiyan") but Saiyan aren't this fast. Then, Burter states that speed isn't going to help Goku anymore, and is going to kill him. Burter's flailing about pissing off Jeice, who joins in. It's now time for Goku to show that he has more than simple speed. After, Goku tells Jeice that it's pointless to fight him, and that Ginyu should take their fallen comrades and leave the planet. Jeice freaks over the fact that the Ginyu team has been so easily beaten, and runs to notify the team leader. At the same time, Vegeta is wondering why Kakarot is taking so long to kill the bad guys. Krillin is so surprised at the speed and power that he asks if this is really Goku.

As Vegeta comes in and finishes off Burter and Recoome, Goku asks why he's doing this. They were helpless, but Vegeta tells him that this is the smart thing to do, especially since one escaped. Goku has to be a perfect Saiyan to face the frightening power of Frieza. Goku repeats "Super Saiyan?" They think about this as Frieza finds the correct mountain.

The group talks about Frieza's strength and their chances of beating him. Frieza does have the Balls, but he hasn't been able to call The Eternal Dragon yet. Vegeta wants to know more about this, and Krillin tells him that you can tell if The Eternal Dragon has appeared when night covers the planet. Goku suddenly realizes that Frieza doesn't know the proper word for summoning the dragon. Vegeta thinks about this, and Goku reminds them to bring their dead friends back to life.

Jeice tells Ginyu what happened. Ginyu can't handle this, but he refuses to let Frieza in on the secret. Instead, he wants to resolve this himself, and tells Jeice to bury the Balls (since the Earthlings don't have scouters that would show where the things are located.) Then, they get into their Special Fighting pose. This doesn't work anymore, and it makes him very angry.

55: Incredible Force!

The heroes argue over what to do with the Dragon Balls, as Vegeta claims that the odds would be better if he were made immortal. Suddenly, Vegeta asks where Frieza is, Goku points off in one direction, and Krillin panics as he realizes that this is where Guru lives. Frieza must be asking for the secret to the Balls. Gohan hopes that Guru isn't killed, because that would cancel out the Balls. Then, Ginyu arrives, and Jeice points out the troublemakers.

They discuss each other (Goku still registers at only 5000, but Ginyu's enhanced scouter can tell that the human is really 60,000.) Jeice knows that no Saiyan is that strong. Ginyu looks forward to a good fight. Goku tells Krillin and Gohan to take the radar and look for the Balls, and he tells Vegeta to attack Jeice. Everyone says that they understand. Goku is told to not let himself be killed, and they start their plan. As it's about to be one-on-one, Vegeta yells out "Later!" and runs off.

After a bit of fighting, Goku comments on the pain and curses Vegeta. Ginyu and Gohan banter a bit. Vegeta thinks to himself that he'd rather track down the Balls and make his wish than fight (the other two are evenly matched.) Jeice roots for his leader-monster. After a little more fighting, Ginyu is surprised at Goku's speed. Then, Jeice's Crusher Ball gives Ginyu a chance to grab his enemy (same trap that Burter had tried to use.)

56: Frieza Approaches

Goku is about to switch on the King Kai techniques, when the leader lets him go. He explains that he knows that Goku has just been playing around, and he wants to see Goku's REAL power. The hero decides to do it, while the leader expects expects it to cap off at 85,000. At, 180,000, Ginyu is stunned. Jeice is also stunned, since the leader is only 120,000. Finally, they realize that the enemy is a Super Saiyan, which is what Vegeta had called him. The team thinks about this, and Goku gives them another chance to leave the planet alive. But, Ginyu is about to use HIS special talent.

57: Goku is Ginyu and Ginyu is Goku

Frieza arrives at the mountain, realizing that there are 3 people there. Nail warns Guru, who's giving the sleeping power to Dende. Dende is told to help the Earthlings, and he tells the elder to not die. The elder hopes not to. Frieza arrives, Nail asks what he wants, the alien demands the secret to the Balls. Frieza is told that if the elder dies, the Balls stop working. The alien blows open the house to see this elder, and wants the secret. The elder tells Nail to fight the alien to give the humans time to summon The Eternal Dragon. Frieza looks forward to the fight; however, they need a place to fight that won't endanger the elder. Guru apologizes to Nail, by himself, about having to sacrifice such a good Namek.

Eventually, Frieza claims that they've reached a good place. Nail powers up. A power level of 45,000 is good for a Namek, but Frieza claims that he himself is 530,000. But, to make things more fun, Frieza promises to only use his left arm. Nail's attack proves that the Namek is only 45,000. After ripping off the Namek's arm, Frieza apologizes for being rude. But, Nail stands up again, showing the desire to die. Nail regens the arm, proving that he's indeed a Namek.

Goku wants to know what Ginyu meant, and the leader tells Jeice to hold his scouter. He hurts himself before making plans on the Super Saiyan's body. Ginyu makes the switch, and is now happy at his new lodgings. Goku, in Ginyu's body, yells in pain. The leader lets everyone know what happened, and then gets his scouter from Jeice. It's now time to return to Frieza. Goku follows behind, hoping to fix things. At least he can still fly.

58: Calling the Eternal Dragon

Krillin and Gohan arrive at Bulma's cave, demanding the Radar. Bulma wakes up, then demands to know what's going on. The runt says that there's no time, but this doesn't change anything. However, Gohan grabs the Radar and points out where they need to go. They leave, with Bulma still demanding to know what's happening. Gohan takes the time to tell her that his father has arrived. This makes Bulma compare Yamcha to Goku.

At some point, Vegeta reaches the ship, and Frieza isn't around. He takes the time to change clothes, hoping that the Earthlings don't find him, or the Balls, first. He also wonders about the secret medicine that Kakarot used to heal himself. He senses the Earthlings approaching, and asks why they came after him so fast. He hides his power before the two show up and grab the Balls. This makes Vegeta happy, because he'll be able to watch them summon The Eternal Dragon, and then he can make his move. Krillin chants "Ide yo, The Eternal Dragon!!!! Soshite negai o kanaetamae!!!!" (The Eternal Dragon appear!!!! So you can grant our wish!!!!) Nothing happens. They wonder about this until sensing the approach of Jeice and Ginyu.

Obviously, Goku must have been defeated, so they hide. But Goku lands, in the presence of Jeice. (The next cover page has Ginyu riding with Gohan on Flying Nimbus. "Yahoo --- I'm really Son Goku, even though my face is strange.") Ginyu and Jeice can't sense anyone, but the Balls are out in the open. Then, Krillin calls out, and steps forward. The leader asks how the runt had found the Balls, which amuses Krillin. He's asked if he'd made the wish, but Krillin says that it didn't work. Ginyu is happier. Krillin remarks on Goku's strange behavior, and the fact that the guy is wearing a scouter. The hero moves forward to explain, when Gohan yells out that this really isn't Goku.

The two don't know what's happening, but Goku is obviously a fake. Now, the leader wants to use the power of his new body, and he and Jeice strike a modified fighting pose, announcing who they are. Surprises everyone. Ginyu now wants to fight at 180,000.

Goku struggles along, hoping that Gohan and Krillin haven't died, and cursing his body. Ginyu laughs madly about his great power, but Jeice tells him that the old body is about to arrive. Goku finds them still alive. He tries to explain what happened, and tells them that they can defeat his body. This amuses Ginyu, with his 180,000 power level. However, Ginyu doesn't know how to use the power with the King Kai techniques. So, Ginyu tries powering up -- but he can't get above 23,000. He can't believe this, but Krillin can. Jeice is told to join the fight, as Vegeta says that he's the first one Jeice gets to face. Goku says, "Vegeta..."

59: Gohan Defeat Your Dad!!

Ginyu is getting trashed, and ridiculed, by Gohan and Krillin. He just can't understand why he can't use this body's full power. Meanwhile, Jeice is trying to figure out how Vegeta can fight without a scouter. They banter a bit, then the Saiyan suggests a quick check of his power level. It's so far out of line that Jeice thinks his scouter is malfunctioning. Vegeta claims to be very close to becoming a Super Saiyan. Then he kills Jeice, which bothers Goku. But, this is just the Saiyan way, and Vegeta now turns his attention to Ginyu. (He's been waiting a LONG time to do this to Goku's body.) Goku yells out that enough's enough, but Vegeta is going to wrap things up just as Ginyu shouts out "Change..."

60: Captain Ginyu... The Frog

Goku sees this as his one chance, and he intercepts the blast. Ginyu is very pissed, the hero is happier to have his body back. Vegeta is confused as to what happened, and Gohan figures out that his father is really his father again. Vegeta still isn't sure if Ginyu is really Ginyu, while Ginyu and Goku both know that Goku can't interfere anymore. So, the team leader tries to take over Vegeta's body yet again. However, a Namekian frog (this used to be a place with some lakes,) chooses that moment to hop by.

Afterwards, the group hopes that Goku is ok, but Vegeta really had done a number on him. The Saiyan asks where Ginyu is, and is told to leave the frog alone. (Vegeta likes this arrangement, anyway. NOTE: Presumably, Ginyu can only change bodies by shouting out the key word, which he can't do any more.) Goku doesn't have any other senzu seeds, and Vegeta threatens to take advantage of the situation to finish them off. But, Goku knows that it's ok, and Vegeta replies that he needs them for the Dragon Balls, and to help handle Frieza. He takes them to Frieza's ship, planning to kill them after he becomes a Super Saiyan. Goku is put in the medical machine to heal, and Goku likes the feeling it gives him. Then, Vegeta tells the other two that they need new combat uniforms. Krillin and Gohan don't like the idea of looking like the bad guys, since it gives them a bad image. They're given the full outfits, which are a one-size fits all, for kids set. The clothes are very strong, but do stretch to fit the wearer. They like the suits, and Vegeta tells them that Goku will heal completely in 40 to 50 minutes. Krillin decides to go check up on Guru, and tells Gohan to stay behind.

61: Password is Porunga

Frieza has almost killed Nail, without using his right arm. He asks Nail to tell him the secret of the Dragon Balls, but Nail just futilely attacks him again. Frieza gets in the last punch, and threatens to make the next a killing blow. Then, Nail tells the alien that he's wasting his time, since Dende is the one that knows how to summon The Eternal Dragon. Realizing that he's been tricked, Frieza rushes off, hoping that he'll get to the Balls in time. It's HIS wish that needs to be made. Meanwhile, Dende just has a little farther to go. Guru telepaths for the little Namek to hurry, since Nail is out of the race. Krillin senses Dende, and they meet up. Krillin tells him that the Dragon Balls don't work, and Dende replies that he knows -- the summoning has to been spoken in Namek. Makes sense to Krillin. But, he wishes that he'd been told that sooner, however, Vegeta was still a threat to them at that time. They hurry, since Frieza's presence is cutting Guru's life shorter.

  62: Piccolo's Return

Gohan is wondering what's taking Krillin so long to return (its been two hours.) Then, he flies to meet the approaching power sources. One disappears, leaving the other, which he identifies as Dende. They exchange greetings, then sneak into the camp to take the Balls while Vegeta continues to sleep. However, as they find a safe place to summon The Eternal Dragon, they sense an incredible power coming in fast. It has to be Frieza, so Dende is told to call The Eternal Dragon NOW. ("Takkarato Popporunga Pupirittoparo.") There's a light, then the sky turns black, just as it does for Earth's Dragon Balls. Frieza is confused, King Kai is happy, and Krillin and Gohan are impressed by The Eternal Dragon's size. Dende says that this creature was formed from Guru's dream, and it's the first time he's seen it, too.

The Eternal Dragon asks for the three wishes. Krillin hadn't known about that part before. They're happy, but Dende tells them to hurry up. The first request is to bring everyone back killed by the Saiyan. The Eternal Dragon says he can't do that -- he can only revive one person at a time, not whole groups. No one had expected this, and King Kai relays the message to the others. Piccolo begs to talk to Gohan, and is instructed to grab King Kai's shoulder. At the same time, The Eternal Dragon wants to know what the first wish is going to be, Krillin and Gohan are panicking, and Dende is telling them that Frieza is getting closer. Piccolo calls out, and the two humans look around to find him. The demon explains what's happening and tells them that the first wish should be to resurrect Piccolo. That way, Kami-sama would be brought back, and the Earth Dragon Balls would function again. The second wish is to bring Piccolo to Namek -- he's almost a match for Frieza, and he wants to avenge his people. The third wish is left for later, but it should be fun. Krillin and Gohan discuss this, and Dende is told what to do.

Still sleeping, Vegeta senses Frieza's approach and wakes up. However, it's night already, and he sees this big monster. Knowing that he's been tricked, Vegeta rushes to the dragon, with Frieza close behind. On King Kai's planet, Piccolo is now alive again. So is Kami-sama (the god and Mr. Popo are both very happy.) Dende is told to make the second wish very fast. He does, but no one had told him to name a SPECIFIC place on Namek. Then, Vegeta shows up, about to tear everyone apart. So, Gohan states that there's one wish left. This mollifies the Saiyan, and he demands to be made immortal. Frieza is now close enough to see The Eternal Dragon, and he's pissed at being cheated, too. There's an argument between the Earthlings as to whether they should bow to Vegeta's demand.

At this point, Piccolo appears on Namek, and he spends a little time getting used to this idea. He then locates Frieza and Gohan, and rushes to save his friends (well, Piccolo doesn't have friends, per se.) Back at the dragon, The Eternal Dragon is asking for the third wish, Vegeta is still making the same demand, and Frieza's power is so close that Krillin tells Dende to go ahead and do it (the runt curses a lot, too.) Vegeta is overwhelmed by the possibilities that lay ahead of him. However, as Dende starts out, Guru dies and The Eternal Dragon disappears.Vegeta is so enraged, that he's about to kill them all.

63: The Fusion

And then Frieza arrives. The alien talks about the loss of his dream to become immortal, and the defeat of his Ginyu team. He'll eradicate them all, but he wants to start with Vegeta, so the others get out of the way. Frieza powers up, stunning them with his strength. Piccolo gets sidetracked when he senses a weak power. Nail is the first Namek he's ever seen. Nail is happy at seeing an Earthling, because this means that the other two succeeded in making their wishes. Piccolo states that he's here to save those two, and needs to be briefed quickly. Nail gives Piccolo a little present for Frieza (seems that Namek fighters can be absorbed into the bodies of other Namek fighters.) This gives him a MAJOR power rush, and he claims that he can defeat anyone now. He flies off, laughing madly.

Frieza's new power level frightens Krillin and Gohan, and the alien claims that he can easily defeat three little flies like them. But, Vegeta wants to face Frieza by himself, explaining that this way he'll become a Super Saiyan. That old story amuses Frieza, who then attacks. Vegeta's power climbs until Frieza's scouter explodes. Gohan and Krillin are stunned at both fighters' power, but Vegeta is the one breathing hard. Then, the Saiyan demands that Frieza take on his true form and fight at full power. (This is what Zarbon had talked about.) They're going to die anyway, so why not? The other two wonder what Vegeta is talking about. Vegeta states that it's a form of camoflage, masking the alien's true power.

64: Fighting Power: One Million??

As small talk, Frieza reveals that he did indeed destroy Vegeta's planet, and killed his father. Fine by Vegeta, means that he's the new king of his race. Frieza flexes, destroying the combat jacket, to Krillin's amazement. But, Vegeta isn't impressed, until the actual change-over starts. This new monster impresses everyone. The second-stage Frieza decides to reveal a bit of his force, claiming to have a level well over 1,000,000. They escape the blast with some scratches, and the loss of one mountain. Then, it's Krillin's time to die, and the others can't believe Frieza's speed. However, Dende was the real target, and Frieza apologizes for missing. Krillin is flung off, and the alien taunts Gohan's attempts to save his friend.

After Gohan thrashes Frieza a bit, Vegeta frets over the chance that the boy is also close to becoming a Super Saiyan. But it's ok -- Dende has saved Krillin (the Namek can heal people,) and not ok -- Frieza isn't dead. The alien hasn't even started warming up. And, Piccolo rushes along, sensing Frieza's energy and telling Gohan that he's coming. Frieza demonstrates that he's mastered power control, too. Vegeta yells for the stupid kid to escape, but it's too late. So, Vegeta attacks, believing that he can win. But, Frieza isn't going to play with him until he's done with the kid. This time, the fight goes the other way. Gohan can't follow the other's moves, and has to be told where to look. Finally, Frieza is going to kill Gohan by squashing his head.

65: Piccolo the Super-Namek

The alien asks if Vegeta is coming to save the boy, and the Saiyan can't bring himself to do it. Then, Gohan dies and Goku feels this and curses his inability to save his son. But, they all sense a new power level -- Krillin has been restored, and he lops off Frieza's tail. Frieza wonders how this is possible, and the runt fires off a few more Distructo Disc's (cutting energy balls.) Goku asks where his friend got this extra power (it's from Guru, having been awoken by Dende.) Then, Frieza catches up, and is going to exact revenge for the loss of his tail. Krillin still isn't strong enough, and has to resort to Solar Flare to blind Frieza and get enough time to escape. Krillin yells for the Saiyan to attack now, but Vegeta is too busy watching Dende fixing Gohan's broken neck. Vegeta would rather ask about the Namek's abilities, and Krillin is happy to see the boy reenter the fight. Being a Saiyan, Gohan is stronger and faster, now that he's come back from near-death (he thanks Dende.) This proves to Vegeta that Gohan is one of his race. This is when Piccolo appears, and he's the strongest of the group.

They tell each other what has happened, and Vegeta and Piccolo promise to continue their battle after this one is over. Frieza is annoyed that he missed killing one of the Namek. Goku is tring to figure out who has the new, greater power, and thinks that it's not Piccolo, but rather, it's Gohan.

66: Deja Vu

Piccolo announces that he's going to fight Frieza on his own, and Dende recognizes Nail's presence in the strange Namek. Piccolo tells Dende to get to safety, and the little Namek wonders how the other knows his name. They talk to themselves about Piccolo, Frieza calls the Namek an insect, and Piccolo attacks. The battle is starting to get serious, and Frieza has his first taste of mild pain.

Krillin and Gohan are happy with Piccolo's performance, but Vegeta is upset at being outpowered by someone that he'd once killed. The two Earthlings expect to not die after all. But, Frieza then gets in a few punches, and Krillin now sees the alien's real spirit. They banter a bit, and Vegeta realizes that he can't beat this monster. Piccolo throws off his heavy clothes, stretches, and says that he's going to fight for real, too. This surprises Frieza (who thought that this HAD been for real, and he didn't know that Namek were this good.) Krillin can't believe that Piccolo had been fighting while wearing the heavy mantle and cloak.

However, Frieza states that he hasn't been fighting seriously, himself. He has two more forms he can take, and he takes a couple of pages to switch to the next step up.

67: Frieza's Second Transformation

The Third-stage Frieza overwhelms everyone with his power level. They talk about this, and the fact that Piccolo has already taken some damage. Goku curses the situation, and the fact that Frieza is so strong. Frieza teases Piccolo, and then attacks. Piccolo tries running away to get some distance, but Frieza appears in front of him ("Well, well. Long time, no see.") With just his ki-ai, Frieza starts doing real damage, and Piccolo is amazed at the speed. Frieza does his Hokuto no Ken impression, as the others futilely watch on. When Krillin tries to help, Vegeta stops the runt and demands that Krillin half-kill him. When Dende heals him, Vegeta hopes to become a Super Saiyan.

68: Another Transformation?

Gohan attacks Frieza at full power, and Krillin cheers him on. But, it's not quite enough. Piccolo saves the boy from his own blast, and Gohan thanks him. Frieza thinks that this had been a bit close, then realizes that the boy is a Saiyan. However, the only Saiyan since their planet was destroyed about 30 years ago, are Vegeta, Raditz, and Nappa.

Piccolo is pleased with Gohan's new strength, which, unfortunately, has been completely depleted. Frieza decides that the only one that could have had a Saiyan child is Raditz. This means that only Vegeta and the boy remain as threats to him. He discounts the possibility of them becoming Super Saiyan.

Meanwhile, Vegeta is explaining that since he's a Saiyan, if he gets half-killed, and then healed, he'll become even stronger. So, he wants Krillin to attack him. He promises to not kill Krillin in revenge. Then, Frieza announces that he's going to do everyone a big service and will take on his true shape and achieve his ultimate power level. The thought of Frieza as an ugly, drooling monster causes Krillin to ignore the possibility that Vegeta will be a problem later, and blasts him in the chest. Vegeta is pleased with the results, and expects now to become a Super Saiyan. Gohan wonders why Krillin fired, and Piccolo says that they'd better move back. Gohan takes Piccolo to safety ("Mr. Piccolo, are you ok?" "I'm just great.") and is going to get Dende to heal the Namek.

But. Vegeta can't understand why Dende won't heal him (something about the Saiyan having killed an entire village of Namekians.) Dende leaves to save Piccolo, and Vegeta collapses to die. Krillin tells Gohan about why he shot Vegeta, as Dende flies off leaving Vegeta limp on the ground. Piccolo asks if Dende can really heal him. One island over, Frieza sees Dende working on Piccolo. Recovered, Piccolo asks if he can heal people too, but is told no, that he's a fighter, not a healer. Krillin and Piccolo try to convince Dende to overcome his hatred, and heal Vegeta.

69: Dende's Demise

Then, the huge release of energy signals Frieza's final change-over. The group talks about Frieza's new power, which is so great it could destroy the planet. Gohan tells Dende to heal Vegeta now. But, instead of thanking him, Vegeta kicks Dende around for not reviving him sooner. The Saiyan is now convinced that he's broken the barrier. Krillin has trouble accepting that the cute little lizard boy is the Fourth-stage Frieza, but the outer appearance masks so much power that Piccolo is sorry at having wasted the Dragon Ball wishes to be brought back to life.

The first finger blast kills Dende, to prevent anyone else from being healed. In the healing tank, Goku is wondering who just died, and curses Frieza's strength. Frieza teleports, and the group attacks. He teleports again, and Vegeta tells them to look backwards. Gohan is singled out for a killing blast, and Vegeta has to save the boy (insulting him at the same time.) Piccolo wonders how the Saiyan got so fast so quickly. Gohan thanks him, but Vegeta says he did it just to have an audience. Piccolo asks if Vegeta thinks he can really beat Frieza, the answer is "yes." Frieza asks about this, and Vegeta claims to be a Super Saiyan. Frieza laughs at the good joke. Piccolo repeats this, and Vegeta attacks, saying that Kakarot won't be the next one. However, during the fight, Frieza warps out and Vegeta can't follow him. This means that Vegeta isn't an actual Super Saiyan. Mere speed isn't going to defeat Frieza. In a rage, Vegeta says that he is too a Super Saiyan, and fires off a new blast. Piccolo tells Vegeta to not destroy the planet. Frieza kicks the blast away, and everyone is stunned. Vegeta loses control and cries in frustration.

Frieza starts pounding on the helpless Saiyan, asking if anyone else wants to try to save him. Goku thinks about how close Vegeta had gotten, and how strong Frieza is. Then, the medical tank announces that he's fully healed. The extra strength, the nice breeze, and the danger in the air all feel good to him. Frieza and company are nearby. Frieza discards Vegeta, annoyed at how fast the fun has come to an end.

70: The Renewed Goku

Before Frieza can deliver the killing blow, Goku arrives, chatting up his friends. They can't believe that this is really Goku. The hero stops Frieza, who wonders where this garbage has come from. Vegeta calls him "Kakarot," meaning that the guy is a Saiyan. There was one guy, on planet Vegeta that looked like this when Frieza fought him (Goku's father, Bardock.) Vegeta realizes that this isn't merely Kakarot, but that Goku is now a Super Saiyan. Frieza thinks about the possibility of another Saiyan in existence. He attacks, but Goku drops him. So, Frieza fires his finger blasts, and Krillin yells out a warning. But, Goku deflects them. Frieza is surprised, and Vegeta tells them the reason that this is possible (and that Frieza will now be defeated.) On the other hand, Frieza is tired of hearing the joke about Super Saiyan, and uses his finger blast to kill Vegeta.

71: The End of Vegeta

Goku asks why Frieza attacked a helpless person, and Vegeta coughs out that Goku has to make the last step. Goku doesn't understand this talk, and Vegeta explains that Goku's parents came from planet Vegeta, which Frieza had destroyed. With his dying breath, Vegeta begs Kakarot to become a Super Saiyan and defeat Frieza. Goku blows out a grave, says a brief eulogy (basically, he respected the guy, but disliked how he acted,) and buries him. Now, Goku plans revenge for his planet.

Piccolo tells Gohan and Krillin to move farther back, and Gohan implores his father to not die.

The fight is brief, and Goku burns his hands on the blast that pushes him deep into a mountain. On the other world, Yamcha asks what's happening, and King Kai tells them that Vegeta has died. However, the good news is that Goku's ace card may allow him to win.

73: Clash of Super Powers

72: The Ultimate Battle

Frieza can see how Ginyu had been defeated. They banter a bit. Then fight a bit. Frieza thinks that this won't take long, and Goku stays at the bottom of the lake, thinking. The hero wants to overcome the alien's speed advantage. His friends worry about this. Then, Goku makes a pair of small Kamehame-ha's, and guides them in the water. Frieza is wondering what's taking so long. Finally, the first 'ha' is sent up, and Frieza mistakes it for Goku. The second one is launched, and it's not Goku either. Frieza is then blindsided, through a couple of hills. Didn't affect the alien much, though. He is very excited at having this kind of fight, and he wonders how he's going to cook Goku. (Playing on the fact that the Saiyan all have foods for names.)

There's a little more bantering, then Frieza launches some rocks to distract the hero long enough to blast him. Goku can't move, Frieza tells him to die, and he hits the planet. The others realize that Frieza had just been playing around until now. Piccolo tells them to not worry, because Goku hasn't been fighting for real, either. Krillin asks how he knows, and Piccolo tells him to look backwards. The hero mentions that the blast was a bit powerful, and he returns to face Frieza. They tell each other that both of them are just warming up. Back on Earth, Chi Chi is grousing about Gohan not studying, and is instead out playing around on some strange planet with Goku. Her father mentions that maybe they're on the ship on the way back home.

Frieza suggests that he and Goku find a nice little island for some hand-to-hand combat. Goku thanks him for the service, and the alien offers a bigger service -- to fight without using either hand. The hero is impressed, stretches out a bit, and is told to attack any way he likes (ie -- Frieza is taking a handicap to make the fight more even.)

Things go smoothly for both sides until Goku bites Frieza's tail (he hates the taste) and the alien punches him in return. Goku mentions this, and Frieza says that the service has ended. They flatter each other, talk about the 'easy' fight with Ginyu, and Frieza states that he's only been using 50% of his max power. Goku thinks he's joking. The others are wondering what's going on at the distant island, and are getting worried.

Frieza starts concentrating, and Goku realizes that the alien isn't bluffing about his power. Goku takes a battering, and Frieza is impressed that the guy isn't dead yet. Everyone else is getting concerning with Frieza's strength, Yamcha asks King Kai if Goku is still wearing the heavy training clothes (he's not, which means that Goku doesn't have that as an excuse for getting beaten up.) But, Tenshinhan tells them to not worry, because Goku can use the 10g King Kai techniques. King Kai cuts their jubulation short, because that's what Goku is doing already.

Frieza uses a slashing energy attack that surprises Goku with its destructive force against the planet. The alien had used this to destroy planet Vegeta, and Goku considers defeat. Krillin and Piccolo try to figure out what Goku is thinking. On the other world, the dead guys are starting to panic, too. Looks like Frieza is going to win. Goku decides to take the risk to his body and step up to 20g King Kai techniques. He pounds on Frieza a bit, and then unleashes a Kamehame-ha.

Frieza is now angry, and in a little pain. Goku is a little stunned.

Volume 27

Goku realizes that Frieza had only been fighting at half-strength. Bulma wonders about the earthquakes, and asks what Gohan and company are doing. Krillin talks about the strength of the last Kamehame-ha, and Frieza is surprised that things had gotten so dangerous. He's pissed, and attacks again. Frieza wonders why Goku isn't fighting so hard now, and prepares to kill him. Gohan wants to help his father, but Piccolo thinks that the guy is up to spmething (he is -- Goku is creating a huge Spirit Bomb.) The energy here is much greater, so the Spirit Bomb created on Namek will be huge. Piccolo is amused, since this isn't a technique that King Kai taught him. However, Frieza won't wait around long enough to be hit by it. Frieza wonders why Goku is just standing there, and the others are stunned at how big the sphere has gotten.

Frieza is getting impatient, and Goku just needs a little more time. Piccolo asks if this is really a big Spirit Bomb. The one on Earth was tiny, this one is 50-meters across. Things drag on, and Frieza finally loses his patience and attacks. Piccolo tells the other two to get ready, and Frieza asks what Goku is trying to do. Piccolo gives the two runts some of his power. Frieza wants to know why Goku has stopped fighting, and tries to anger him with some jive. Then, he looks up and realizes what the Saiyan had been working on. Piccolo tells the two to stay in place, as he goes to help Goku. Frieza is stunned at the energy in the Ball. Goku is frustrated at not being able to use the Ball in time, and Frieza decides to cook Goku. But, before he can deliver the killing shot, Frieza gets kicked in the head by Piccolo.

Piccolo tells Goku to finish the Spirit Bomb, and Frieza is pissed with the Namek. Piccolo wants it fired now, but it isn't ready yet. The alien is annoyed with their just standing around and talking, but he gets blindsided by the blasts from the other two humans (Piccolo is pleased with them.) This is enough to make Frieza try to destroy the planet. However, Goku has completed the Spirit Bomb, and moves it in for the kill. Knowing that he's screwed up, Frieza tries to protect himself. The Spirit Bomb explodes and takes out a huge section of the ocean. King Kai is convinced that Frieza has been destroyed, and starts celebrating.

Krillin and Gohan are safe, but they can't find Goku and Piccolo. Those two do surface (Piccolo has saved his one-time mortal enemy.) There's much rejoicing, and talk of going back home, when Krillin remembers about Bulma. They joke around, and Piccolo comments on the destruction of the planet, and Guru's death (Krillin wants to know how Piccolo knows about the elder.) Then, the runt sees Frieza. Gohan yells out Piccolo's name when the Namek gets shot in the chest. Frieza bitches about people who think that he's dead, because if anyone's going to do the killing, it's going to be him. Goku tells them to return to the ship and escape with Bulma, because they're just going to be in his way. But, Frieza isn't letting anyone escape, because of the damage he's received. Goku yells for Frieza to stop, but Krillin is levitated up, and then exploded. Frieza asks if the brat should be next.

This was a mistake, because Goku needed only one thing to break the barrier -- extreme rage. The other two wonder what happened, and the Super Saiyan orders Gohan to take Piccolo to the ship. Goku wants Piccolo healed, because if the Namek dies, so does Kami-sama. Gohan doesn't want to go, and Goku tells him to shut up and move. As he flies off with Piccolo, the boy thanks his father, saying that he'll be waiting, and hopes Goku will stay well. Frieza refuses to let the boy go, alive.

Goku says that things have changed with Krillin's death. The alien asks where all this power has come from. Gohan says that he understands his father's situation, that the man has become a Super Saiyan. There's some fighting, then some bantering. Frieza talks about having destroyed the Saiyan, and refuses to lose this battle. Frieza turns up the power, to no effect, then it's Goku's turn. Frieza gets pounded, and then he uses his finger blasts. And misses. The hero tells Frieza to shoot one more time, and takes the blast flat on the chin. The alien asks who this guy is, and he replies "I am the Earth-raised Saiyan, the Super Saiyan Son Goku." Frieza admits this, and thinks that everything is turning out to be a bad dream. How can all of this be happening to him, to Frieza?

Goku says it's over. Gohan finds his father's spaceship, drops off Piccolo, and goes to find Bulma. Frieza is going to win by destroying the planet, and Goku curses. King Kai explains what's happening to the dead heroes, and it looks like the planet is gone. At this time, Kami-sama contacts King Kai and says that Mr. Popo has assembled the Dragon Balls and they can now wish the dead to life. They can bring back Tenshinhan and Yamcha, but not Chao-zu, who has died once before. Suddenly, King Kai realizes that if Kami-sama is alive, Piccolo must be. And Gohan, Bulma and Goku, too.

Frieza complains about having lost his touch. Namek won't explode for 5 more minutes. This gives Goku 5 minutes to get back to his ship. Frieza won't let this happen. He wants the chance to reach 100% of his real power. He attacks Goku, and says that's only 70% of what he can do. He only needs 30 seconds to power up. Goku decides to hold off and let Frieza charge up. King Kai asks why, and Goku says that he wants the challenge, because he won't be able to do this again. They argue, with Goku saying that Krillin was a good guy who needs to be revenged. Eventually, King Kai gives up, saying that this isn't Son Goku anymore -- it's the soldier Super Saiyan talking.

As he nears Bulma's island, Gohan asks what is happening to the planet. He rescues Bulma, who aks all kinds of questions. The boy says that there's no time for talk, they have to hurry. She wants to know where. Frieza is now at full power, and it's time to fight. King Kai discouragedly tells Kami-sama what's happening. Tenshinhan doesn't want to be brought to life if Chao-zu isn't. Then, King Kai wakes up and starts asking questions. "Yes, the Namek Balls are like the Earth ones. No, the Earth Balls can't resurrect some one dead more than one year. No, they can't bring back someone who died naturally. Don't know if they can bring back someone who's natural lifespan has been unnaturally shortened. They should be able resurrect Namekians."

So, King Kai tells Kami-sama to change the wish from resurrecting the people killed by Vegeta, to resurrecting the people that had died because of Frieza. This should bring back Guru, and give them the remaining wish from the Namek Eternal Dragon. The dead on the other world think this is ok, because they haven't been dead all that long. Have to hurry, because Namek is about to blow. Kami-sama hadn't known about that part.

Frieza and Goku are having fun, and they taunt each other.

[The next cover page has Yajirobee commenting on Goku's being off and playing around somewhere.]

The ocean is still filling in the hole, and Frieza says that they only have 2-3 minutes left. But, Goku isn't going to run to his ship until Frieza is dead. The alien says that Goku has a big mouth. Goku hopes that Gohan isn't screwing around somewhere. There's some more fighting.

The Earth Eternal Dragon is summoned, and asked if he can resurrect everyone who died because of Frieza. The Eternal Dragon doesn't know, but is told to try his best. There's more fighting, and finally the Namekians start realizing that they're not dead anymore, but there's something wrong with the planet. Frieza blusters, then notices that the sky has turned black -- can't be because the planet is going to blow, yet. The Eternal Dragon says that he's done it, and he leaves. King Kai celebrates, Tenshin asks about Guru, and is told that the elder, and the Namek Eternal Dragon are both alive. King Kai contacts Guru, and tells him what's happening. Frieza stops asking what's going on when he sees Goku surfacing again. He curses the Earthling, rekindling Goku's rage over Krillin's death. King Kai and Guru agree to use the last wish to teleport everyone but Frieza to Earth. However, Goku breaks in to have the wished changed -- teleport everyone but himself and Frieza. They argue over this, and Dende is contacted to go to The Eternal Dragon, because the boy is the closest one to the Dragon.

Gohan, carrying Bulma, asks why the sky is black, Vegeta asks why he's alive again, and The Eternal Dragon asks for the third wish. King Kai tells Goku what's happening, and the hero is happy. Then, Frieza sees The Eternal Dragon. Goku is surprised at seeing the Namekian dragon, and misses Frieza's sudden departure. Dende has started making the last wish and Frieza yells out "Make Frieza immortal and unaging!!!!!" Goku curses, and Dende completes the wish in Namek. The Eternal Dragon says that he can do this. People start warping out, and Gohan is telling Bulma that they've almost reached Piccolo.

Frieza is left floating, with his mouth open, as the Balls fly after the main elder. Frieza and Goku talk over what had just happened. There's only two minutes left before there's nothing left. So, Frieza and Goku are now free to fight with no restrictions. Frieza has decided that he's going to eat Goku fried. They revert to hand-to-hand combat again.

On Earth, everyone is greeting everyone else, and the elder tells them where they are. On Namek, the battle is heating up for 5-7 pages. Then, Goku declares that he has won, and there's no point in continuing. Now, it's just a matter of saving Frieza's pride. Goku powers down and prepares to go to his ship. However, Frieza isn't having any of this, and attacks again. That was Goku's last offer, and and Frieza just blew it. The cutting energy ball chases after Goku, so he flies around before racing straight at Frieza. Frieza is amused at this children's trick.

Volume 28

Goku rushes towards Frieza, closely followed by the cutting energy ball. Freeze yells that this is an old trick. The ball apparently kills Goku, but the hero had used One Image, and is standing off to the side. Goku insults Frieza, basically saying that the alien can only handle a limited amount of power. Frieza creates two cutting balls to prove that he can. The same chase pattern occurs, but this time, as he approaches Frieza, Goku shoots a blast to raise a cloud of dust. Cursing, Frieza leaps out of the way of the first disk, but is smashed down into the path of the second. Goku tells him to not stand up, but it's too late.

Frieza curses a lot, then begs for help. Goku, turning to leave for his ship, pauses. King Kai yells for Goku to not listen to the pleas. Then, Goku shouts that he's not going to help this kind of killer. Frieza begs one more time, and Goku gives him enough power to move on his own again.

Back on Earth, the Namek are chattering, but one elder notices that Tsuuso's village hasn't shown up yet. Vegeta answers that that's probably the one he trashed. The wish had been to bring back the people killed because of Frieza, and Vegeta had killed those people on his own. The old Dragon Balls also land, and Guru says that after he dies, the new Guru should make a new set of Dragon Balls. The group agrees to this, and then the old Namek dies permanently. Piccolo gives his farewells, and Dende asks if Piccolo and Nail are now the same person (Piccolo just smiles.)

Bulma asks where Goku and Krillin are, and Gohan answers that Krillin died again, and that he'd last seen his father fighting Frieza. Piccolo comments on this, and Bulma asks why Krillin wasn't resurrected with everyone else. Gohan explains that Krillin has died once already, and Dende overhears this. But, that restriction, on not bringing the same person back to life twice, doesn't apply if the Namek Balls are used for the second resurrection. There is much rejoicing, because that will get Chao-zu and Krillin. Then, Piccolo complains about how stupid Goku is, but Gohan is convinced that the Super Saiyan will win. Vegeta wakes up at the mention of "Super Saiyan."

Back on Namek, Frieza is still giving Goku a hard time. They talk a bit about getting off the planet, where the ships are, and so on. But, Frieza is a bad loser, and tries one last time to kill Goku. This fails, and Goku's counter blast finishes off the alien. On King Kai's planet, King Kai is relaying what happened, but also adds that Goku won't escape in time. Yamcha answers that since Goku is a Super Saiyan, he still has a chance, so King Kai starts chanting for Goku to hurry. Goku reaches Frieza's ship, and begs for it to work. Frantically looking for the start button, he does find it, but the ship doesn't react. He curses, then rushes outside to watch the ship fall into a crevice. King Kai relates what's happening, Goku realizes that the planet is about to explode and he screams "shi --- it!!!" Yamcha yells for Goku to not die, and then Namek explodes.

King Kai can't find the planet, or Goku. Yamcha volunteers to talk to Bulma and to tell Gohan what's happened, using King Kai as a channel. He explains what's happening, and then Bulma has to do the same for Gohan. She asks how Yamcha is doing, and he answers "as well as can be expected for a dead guy (more or less.)" He tells her that Goku had defeated Frieza (this surprises Vegeta,) and tries to say that the hero had died in the explosion, but Bulma interrupts and tells him to quit joking. He yells back at her that it's the truth. Then, Bulma replies that Yamcha doesn't know that the Namek on Earth can recreate their Dragon Balls, which can bring back Chao-zu, Krillin, AND Goku. However, King Kai bursts her bubble by stating that although those people can be brought back to life, there'd be no place for them to return to, (ie -- Goku and Krillin would appear where Namek had been, and would just die again shortly after.)

Gohan panicks a little at hearing that his father and Krillin can never be resurrected, and Bulma says that at least the others can be. Vegeta speaks up (insulting them,) and states that the obvious thing is to wish for the remains of the two fighters to be brought to Earth, first. Bulma tells him that he's ok after all, and Gohan tries to thank Vegeta, but the Saiyan just wants to meet a Super Saiyan, and then defeat him. This is when one of the Namek elders steps in and says that before they create the Balls, they need a nice place to set up camp. Bulma volunteers some land near the space in the city where she lives, and she extends the offer to Vegeta (who accepts it with his normal grace, muttering that she has a big mouth.) Next, she asks everyone to wait while she goes to the nearby house to call for her father to come get them. Gohan asks to stay at Capsule Corp. as well, because he'd forgotten to study his homework and Chi Chi is going to be mad at him. The air bus comes and takes everyone to Bulma's place in the western district. Vegeta, too.

130 days later, the Balls have been reactivated, and the Namekian Eternal Dragon appears outside of the Capsule Corp. HQ. Bulma and her father are impressed at the dragon's size. The Eternal Dragon asks for the first wish, and the new Guru states that the Namek will wait for a while, so the Earthling's can make all three wishes. Gohan thanks him. Bulma wishes for the remains of Goku and Krillin to be brought back to Earth. The dragon answers that Krillin is a go, but since Goku is still alive, he doesn't have any remains to be teleported. Neither Gohan or King Kai can believe this. Gohan suggests that maybe his father had found a space ship. Bulma then wishes for Krillin to be brought back to life (he is very surprised.) As a free service, The Eternal Dragon had fixed Krillin's clothes and healed his wounds, as well. Bulma says that the dragon may have a scarey face, but he does good work.

For the third wish, Bulma shouts out to have Goku brought to Earth. There's some cheering. Then, The Eternal Dragon answers that since Goku is already on his way home under his own power, the wish can't be fulfilled. Kamesennin yells out for a nicer bride for Goku, then has to quickly add that he's just joking. (Piccolo notes that while Goku is alive, King Kai couldn't locate him.) So, the third wish is to have Yamcha resurrected. Another 130 days later, Tenshinhan and Chao-zu are resurrected together. The third wish of the second set is for the discovery of a new planet for the Namekians.

One year has passed. Gohan is wondering what's happened to his father. The phone wakes him up -- it's Krillin. Everyone now notices the presence of a stupendous power. King Kai hopes that it isn't Frieza [NOTE: Vegeta is spending the day at Capsule Corp., with Yamcha and Bulma, having a BBQ.] Seems that Kakarot hadn't finished the job after all. Tenshin realizes that there's at least 2 strong people approaching.

On the spaceship, the cyborg Frieza tells his father that this is the planet called Earth. Papa thinks that it's a little planet that will only take one blast to blow up. Gohan flies off, with Chi Chi asking where he's going. He meets up with Krillin, and they discuss the evil that's getting closer. The ship is about to land, and Vegeta thinks that he and Yamcha are at the contact point. Yamcha calls Bulma an idiot when she shows up. They argue, but since Frieza can blow up Namek, there is no safe place to hide on Earth, so she came to watch the fight. Tenshin and Chao-zu arrive, and the triclops wants to know why his killer has come to the battlezone. Tenshin wants to kill Frieza, and Yamcha has to calm things down. Vegeta tells them to argue later, there's fighting to be done, and Frieza is going to have his scouter back. The Saiyan then comments that the Namekian is here, and people now notice Piccolo. Krillin and Gohan now locate the others.

They exchange greetings, and Piccolo shouts that the ship is coming. Gohan says that this really is Frieza, and Vegeta wants to know if everyone can fly (to cover distance.) Yamcha panicks at realizing that Frieza is this strong. Tenshin and Yamcha can't believe that the others had actually fought this monster. Vegeta mocks them, adding that Earth is about to end. Frieza comes out of the ship, and thinks that Earth is not a bad place. Cold decides that they'll wait 3 hours for the Super Saiyan to show up. Then they'll have some fun and kill everyone. Yamcha curses the fact that Frieza is still alive. Frieza orders his men to kill all of the Earthlings, and then a strange boy sets foot on the battlegrounds.

Frieza asks the boy what he wants, and the kid replies "to kill the lot of you." Frieza repeats this, and asks if the kid knows who he is. The kid does. The alien doesn't know how this is possible, but he orders one of his soldiers to kill the brat. According to the creature's scouter, this Earthling garbage has a power rating of 5. All of the soldiers quickly die, which overwhelms the heroes, and amuses Frieza and Cold. The kid says it's now their turn. They banter a bit, and the boy states that he's come to meet Son Goku; Frieza recognizes the name. They banter some more, and the kid says that Goku isn't the only Super Saiyan now. Frieza and Cold are stunned as the boy powers up. The humans are trying to figure out where this power has come from, and Gohan recognizes it as being like his father's, at the end of the fight. Frieza attacks, Cold praises him, the boy avoids the blast. He makes some strange hand gestures, yells out "Frieza" and fires. Gohan points out where the action is happening, and Frieza gets diced before being vaporized.

Krillin and Vegeta stammer a bit, and Pool and Bulma can't follow any of the action at all, but at least they have been saved by what looks like Goku. Yamcha states that this isn't Goku at all. The group gets closer to watch the action. Cold praises the boy's technique in killing his child, and asks to see the kid's sword. The kid hesitates, and Cold asks if something's wrong. With the blade in his hands, Cold admits that something like this could make someone undefeatable. Cold attacks with the sword, the boy catches it in one hand and moves the other for another blast as Cold yells out for him to wait. Cold dies, and the alien ship is destroyed.

The kid invites everyone to wait with him for Goku's arrival. The group is surprised by this, and Vegeta is trying to figure out where yet another Saiyan could have come from. The group decides that the kid can't be all bad, and they take him up on his offer. The kid finds the right coordinates (573 by 18220.) He lands, the others follow suit. He uses a capsule to make a little cooler, and since there's 3 hours left to wait, he offers them something to drink. (Kirin beer, and Post Water.) Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin accept. [NOTE: Vegeta is wearing a white button-down work shirt with "BADMAN" written on the back.]

Bulma asks if they've met before, and Gohan wants to know how the kid knows his father (heard of him, never met him.) They ask him: How do you know Goku will arrive here in 3 hours; What's your name; Where are you from; -- all are answered with "Sorry, I can't tell you that." Vegeta wants to know how the kid can be a Super Saiyan (since there are only 3 Saiyan left,) and is met with silence. Bulma finally notices the Capsule Corp. jacket, and asks if he's an employee (not really.) (It's another secret.) He does say that he's 17 years old. The group splits up, and kills time. Bulma notices the interaction between the mysterious kid and Vegeta. Vegeta wants to know why the kid keeps staring at him, and gets an embarrassed apology. People wonder to each other about this strange kid.
